Thanks! By running nm I found out that the executable was stripped after compilation, so the missing symbols were indeed not there (as soon as I get access to a Linux machine I have to check why the Makefile works there). By redefining STRIP=strip to STRIP=echo everything works fine now (almost ;-) errno.h on Mac OS X seems to differ a bit from other "Unix" systems, but that shouldn't be a big problem). Thanks a lot.
