This is a known problem on Tiger, caused by the cominbation of an unfortunate choice made by the folks working on the ImageIO framework with a bug in some versions of gnu libtool (which, happily, only affects a small number of software projects). The workaround is to copy the PatchScript from gnome/vte.info into the .info file you are working on.
