Note that the Intel build was on DTS machine, not final hardware, and
both builds were done with post-2.2.1 builds of Xcode (although not
post-2.2.1 by much, there shouldn't be too much of a difference.)
I don't have time to look at these in detail, let me know if you need a
hand figuring out why something didn't build.
What's the matter with X11 on intel?
Very many packages that have dependencies on X11 did not build on intel,
because apparently the built-in X11 is absent or not recognized, and
xorg is not properly installed - ignoring any dependencies on it.
The result is that xorg is not removed by the build script before
building a new package, then xfree86 is chosen by default, but cannot be
installed, because either
You have an existing X11 installation in /usr/X11R6 and/or /etc/X11.
This package refuses to overwrite these. Remove them, then tell Fink to
install xfree86 again. (The package won't be recompiled.)
or
/Volumes/SandBox/fink/sw/bin/dpkg: error processing
/Volumes/SandBox/fink/sw/fink/debs/xfree86-shlibs_4.5.0-24_darwin-i386.deb
(--install):
trying to overwrite `/usr/X11R6/lib/libXfontcache.1.2.dylib', which is also in
package xorg
It looks like this is all caused by xorg that got stuck somehow. From
that point on, no X11-dependent package built any more.
