This looks more like a net glitch. It tried to download the file but got
only one byte instead of 317kB.

I have no problem to download this file. If this fails again for you,
maybe you can download it manually with a browser and install it
directly using
sudo dpkg -i readline5_5.0-4_darwin-powerpc.deb
Just make sure that it has the right size: 316514 Bytes, not 1 Byte.
