Dear Martin, If that is the case, that would make it very restrictive. I am the maintainer of qwt, a new package for Fink. qwt has a designer plugin, which I split off into its own package. It depends on qt3-designer being installed. You can't install a designer plugin without having designer installed in the first place, right? Hence it depends on qt3- designer, which I now hear is BuildDepends only (its not the case according to the info file qt3.info)!
After installing qwt-designer-plugin, I am unable to build qt3mac, because qwt-designer-plugin depends on qt3-designer. I also see that your package qt3mac build conflicts with qt3- designer, which is not obviously build depends only! I hope have explained it. Many thanks. Best regards, Murali.
