Hi, I think based on Symantec's recent announce and Apple's known lag for some open source utility updating, you should quickly re-package 3.x latest and offer as a saviour for users who are really confused by compile etc process of OS X and also don't want to "break" the Apple installed versions of Unix tools.
I think it will be good for both Fink publicity and the end users who rely on Windows file sharing of OS X.
