I'm preparing a package for vpnc (http://www.unix-ag.uni-kl.de/ ~massar/vpnc/) which depends on tuntap (http://www-user.rhrk.uni- kl.de/~nissler/tuntap/).

I'm struggling to package the tuntap kext correctly, i.e., install the kext such that everything is in the correct place and the kext loads at boot time. The packaging tutorial is silent on how to do this - can anyone give me some pointers?

Check out the fuse package. That's the only other kext-using package that I know of.

Thanks for the pointer! Based on the TODO things in fuse.info, it looks like the fuse maintainer also hasn't worked out how to manage installing stuff under /System/Library. (Well, installing it is the easy part, but doing so is against fink policy to have everything under %p.)
