If ~/.qt > is unwritable, for example, you could get such a behavior. > I didn't, but it looks like what happened was my ~/.qt/qtrc file got mostly (but not completely) eliminated. qtconfig still worked, I just needed to look at a working copy to figure out where the default font selector was and pick a different entry in that list, then save. I'm back in qt business.
