I have created test packaging for the new freeglut 2.6.0-rc1 release and placed this on fink tracking...
https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=2781469&group_id=17203&atid=414256 The package has a libfreeglut.3.9.0.dylib shared lib with compatibility level 13.0.0 compared to a libfreeglut.3.8.0.dylib and compatibility level 12.0.0 in freeglut 2.4.0. I was able to install this new release and run binaries previously built against the current version in fink unstable without issues. The pymol-py26, ccpnmr-py26 and molmol programs all run normally against this new version. The only outstanding issue is that the smooth-opengl3 demo has issues with duplicate symbols using the darwin X11 gl.h headers. Let me know if you run into any programs in fink which are incompatible with this new version of freeglut.
