Bill, This is forking the discussion slightly, but I recall you had problems running the blt tests from within Pmw under x86_64 fink. I just noticed this thread... https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/blt/+bug/359857 You might try installing custom tcltk 8.5 packages with... --disable-xft added to the ConfigureParams. Perhaps that will help. Unfortunately as you can see from that thread, the blt author is not very big on communicating downstream.
