I'd also consider that as an argument against building against
whatever's current automatically.

What I had in mind in the per-revision scheme (based on an earlier
discussion on this list that I couldn't find--at least I think it was
here) would be that the package description file would specify a fixed
revision, along the lines of:

Source: svn:<appropriate repo syntax to be determined>
CheckoutRevision: 10

to check out svn revision 10 of the package.

The maintainer would update the CheckoutRevision at their discretion.
This would be more or less the same as what we're currently doing for
but with the added ability to do checkouts from repositories directly
rather than making up snapshots.  In that case the build burden is
pretty much the same as now.
