        Well, since it's failing the configure step, shouldn't that somewhat 
narrow the places to look?  I think that:

1) either the check is not correctly seeing XCode 2.5, or
2) my XCode install is missing something.

        I don't speak config well enough to understand specifically what it is 
checking for, but is it supposed to be looking for g++ in sw/lib/ rather than 
/usr/bin/ ?
