I can't seem to get fink working through our student http proxy. I've done fint configure and put the proxy address in in the form http://username:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:3128 but every time I try to do sudo apt-get update or dselect update the connection is refused.
I did make the file which points to /sw/bin/init.csh I don't know what I've done wrong... BTW, our proxy allows only web-based connections (port 80 or 8080 I guess) and doesn't let anything else through (eg FTP, unless I do it from Internet Explorer). Any help would be appreciated.
