Okay, you say you already have digest-md5, I can think of a 
couple of solutions:

1) Remove the digest-md5-pm from the Depends: line in any .info 
file you need.

2) Write a system-digest-md5-pm .info file and install it.

Provides: digest-md5-pm
Conflicts: digest-md5-pm

Description: Perl digest md5

might work :)

fink doesn't actually look anywhere outside of fink to see if 
perl mods are installed.
