Another way is to turn on verbose reporting in /sw/etc/fink.conf (or just run 'fink configure') and look at the output.
Here's a snippet from a selfupdate-cvs I just did: ... cvs server: dists/stable/main/finkinfo/libs/libsigc++-1.0.3-1.info is no longer in the repository U dists/stable/main/finkinfo/libs/libsigc++-1.0.4-1.info ... The U shows that the package has been updated.
