Hi all,
I just finished installing grace on 3 machines, all v10.1.3, all after
updating Fink. FWIW, fink-install cannot find a file but apt-get install
works. First try on my desktop G4/450 I got the msg abt mising a
libdl.dylib, read in here how i needed to install fftw, did so, and grace
works fine. On a second G4/450 i had the lib missing even after installing
fftw so i just copied the entire /sw/lib over from the first G4, works
fine. On my PBG4/500 again the lib was missing. In this case I was a little
more conservative and only copied libdl.dylib over. xmgr-Grace works here
too, but with a msg 'unsupported locale' on startup. Questions:
1. On both G4/450 the LANG environment variable is not set, on the PB is is
(hence the 'locale' msg). Where does LANG get set on the PB? I have no
idea!

2. Unless I just don't remember what did, I copied libdl.dylib into
/sw/lib on the PB. What I *have* there is libdl.dylib@, a symlink to
libdl.0.dylib. How did that happen? Maybe libdl.dylib really was there in
the first place and the system was smart enough to rearrange the files
instead of overwriting?

Anyway it's nice to have Grace. I keep the email digests in a 'fink'
mailbox and search it when a question comes up - better than a FAQ!

Tom
