I do have a need; I gather that Yasuaki Honda ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) has it 
working with CLISP, so I an going to work with him to figure out what 
changes need to be made.  I'll post them here, if they work out.

I got nowhere with GCL either; it's a maze of twisty passages in the 
'configure' labyrinth.
