OK, I "fixed" my problem - apparently these pkgs (some of which I mis-spelled) had missing dependent pkgs. I did 'sudo apt-get install <pkgname> --reinstall' for each and the dependencies were installed along with newer versions of the pkg. Things seem to be OK package-wise
QUESTION: In general, under what conditions are pkgs "kept back"? -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Warren Pollans Sent: Monday, April 22, 2002 9:31 AM To: Fink_Users_List Subject: [Fink-users] packages kept back? I just did "sudo apt-get upgrade" after having done "sudo apt-get update" and get the following: ... The following packages have been kept back audiofile db3 gdbm ghost-script-fonts gmp libjpeg lintiff netpbm python tcltk ... What does this mean? Is it something that I can change/fix?
