Hi everyone One suggestion/idea for further spreading fink: Many of us, especially in this group, have seen the benefits with open source software in general and fink in special.
A lot of first class software is now available for mac user like Lyx, scilab, oregano, xcircuit, ... The list of best picks will vary with the user but there are many and they run well. Even so still some of my colleagues are in doubt. They argue you may find commercial software and the fright for x-windows are still great among many mac user. One key application for converting this people would be a decent videoconference application. Still after two year with mac osx there are no video conference software out there able to connect using standard protocolls. But there are gnomemeeting http://www.gnomemeeting.org. What if the fink project could be the first to bring video conferences to the mac osx?
