Sorry to bother all you fine folks with probably a trivial problem, but I'm having trouble updating a few packages.
Having set up Fink to retrieve from CVS, did a selfupdate and discovered that quite a few packages had been "repackaged" so to say, with the addition of the shlibs. Most of the packages updated without errors, however libxml2 came up with this: > The following 9 additional packages will be installed: > anacron findutils libxml2-bin libxml2-shlibs man python tcltk tcltk-dev > tcltk-shlibs > Do you want to continue? [Y/n] y > Failed: Problem resolving dependencies. Check for circular dependencies. This was echoed by net-snmp too: > pkg net-snmp version ### > pkg net-snmp version 5.0-2 > > fink needs help picking an alternative to satisfy a virtual dependency. > The > candidates: > > (1) manconf: Wrapper script for man which forces use of custom > man.conf. > (2) man: man pager. > > Pick one: [1] 2 > The following package will be installed or updated: > net-snmp > The following 5 additional packages will be installed: > anacron findutils man tcltk-dev tcltk-shlibs > Do you want to continue? [Y/n] > Failed: Problem resolving dependencies. Check for circular dependencies. I tried to update each and every one of the additional packages, but it always returns to the same point and fails due to the circularity. What can I do in this case ? Also, in passing, net-snmp has now been updated to version 5.0.1 in its home page, which resolves a few problems with 5.0. Fink is lagging behind. Thanks for your help J.
