Patience please for some newbie queries. Within Gnome, what is the best method of downloading programs and then installing them so that they appear within the Sawfish desktop? For example, I used dselect to install Dia and it compiled by itself and it's icon appeared for me to use within Sawfish. Great. I then went to the Abiword web site and download Abiword and I can't figure out how to get it to "install/appear" within the Gnome environment. What's the way to do this? Is there a place to go to get informed in a better way than I am right now?
