It can also save files in MS Excel (tm) 95 format." I got scared because it specifically said different things about what it reads and what it writes. If you have more recent information, or more clearer (sic) information, then maybe I'll that a try, too. According to http://www.gnome.org/projects/gnumeric/doc/preface.html (which I hadn't read before): "...can also export to MS Excel (tm) along with several open formats..."
