I believe that the CVS database needs updating for the fondu dependency of 'applesystemfonts'. the url is http://fondu.sourceforge.net/fondu_src-021023.tgz
not sure the patching works the way it's supposed to on that tarbal but that gets the above package installed and hopefully working (need to restart X to be sure, will keep you posted).
