I am running Mac OS X 10.2.2 and have installed XFree86 4.2.1.1, using
the installer provided by the nice people at XDarwin.org, which is
represented in Fink by the dummy package, system-xfree86 4.2.1.
As I mentioned in an earlier e-mail, 'selfupdate-cvs' followed by
'update-all' revealed that libxine was in need of an update and that it
depended on Fink packages xfree86-base-threaded and
xfree86-rootless-threaded (with their 'shlibs' counterparts), which
were not installed. I was concerned about a possible conflict with
system-xfree86, and I enquired how to proceed. Having got no answer, I
decided to go ahead and try to install the xfree86-*-threaded packages
regardless. As I feared, this did not complete successfully; only the
shared libraries were installed.
Can anyone advise me on the best way to proceed.
Alwyn
