I want to do a clean install of the new Fink 0.5.0a release from the Source Release (http://fink.sourceforge.net/download/srcdist.php).

Thus, I downloaded fink-0.5.0a-full.tar.gz from one of the Fink mirrors (Phoenix, AZ I believe).

Following the Fink Installation document (http://fink.sourceforge.net/doc/bundled/install-fast.php#install), I did the following:

[mymachine:~] me% tar xzf fink-0.5.0a-full.tar.gz
After the uncompression and untarring process, the following file was also created in the same directory where fink-0.5.0a-full.tar.gz exists as well as the directory that now holds the subdirectory "fink-0.5.0a-full":

@LongLink

Does anyone know what the heck @LongLink is?

I uncompressed the tar.gz file per the Fink instructions, because the Fink Web page regarding Source Installation states that one should not to use Stuffit to do so.

Can I kill @LongLink right away or is it needed for something? Its contents seem to be NULL.
