It isn't *suggested* per-se, but it is perfectly reasonable to copy individual info files over. HOWEVER, *please* do not copy them to stable. Unless you are a fink maintainer, it is best to consider the stable and unstable trees read-only. Instead, copy the info and patch to the *local* directory (which should already, by default, be in your Trees list).
