Yes, I was able to, just the other day, get a copy of cyrus-sasl working on Fink 0.5.0a.cvs with unstable trees added on my Powerbook. I got all packages installed successfully as follows:
fink list | grep cyrusHowever, on a different machine that has Fink 0.5.0a stable-trees-only installed, I tried to manually install the above cyrus-sasl unstable packages by copying their .info and .patch documents to
i cyrus-sasl 1.5.27-14 Cyrus Simple Authentication and Security Layer Library
i cyrus-sasl-dev 1.5.27-14 Cyrus Simple Authentication and Security Layer Library
i cyrus-sasl-shlibs 1.5.27-14 Cyrus Simple Authentication and Security Layer Library

but I didn't have any success installing the cyrus-sasl packages.
I think (but can't confirm because I ran out of time to test on that particular machine) this is because cyrus-sasl relies on the unstable version of the openssl package (and related openssl dev and shlibs) which is, in the unstable tree, is version 0.9.6g-3. On my stable machine, I didn't have the chance to also copy openssl's .info and .patch documents to /sw/fink/10.2/local/main/finkinfo.
On my Powerbook with the unstable installation, no problem (confirmed that I'm also using openssl 0.9.6g-3).
This openssl version toggle is the only difference I can think of that applies to cyrus-sasl in the fink context. Have I made a logic error? Anyone else able to get cyrus-sasl to install successfully in a mostly stable Fink tree?
