My current Fink installation is borked and will not update -- It looks
like I'll have to start with a fresh install.

I like to always have the latest packages from CVS. Is it feasible to do
the following to save some by not compiling the already-up-to-date
binary packages, like xfree86-base:

    1. Remove my existing Fink installation

    2. Install the new 0.5.0a binary release

    3. Install all the packages I need w/o compiling to save time --
such as xfree86 base and xfree86 rootless

    4. Edit /sw/etc/fink.conf and add the unstable/main and
unstable/crypto trees to the front of the `Trees:' directive after
    local/main

    5. Run selfupdate-cvs and then update-all to retrieve and build the
    freshest-from-the-dairy packages availble

Thanks for your time,
Ian
