Sorry about that, I don't actually use gdal, so testing it is not
simple for me. Not an excuse for not testing though.
There is an updated gdal (1.1.8) in the package submission tracker. It
will be committed when grass is updated to support it. I emailed Matt
Stephenson, the grass maintainer, and it sounded like he would be
updating grass in the next few days.
