Hi Finkers,
Well, my 'clue level' here is low but I think I now understand why
apt-cache always crashes lately when I launch fink commander. I usually
just do fink selfupdate-cvs and fink update-all and while they seem to
work fine, I never seem to find any interpretable error to improve my
clue quotient. But today I tried to update package descriptions only,
by using (command-option-U) under the Binary pull-down menu in Fink
Commander. I got the following error in the gui window:
E: Opening /sw/etc/apt/sources.list - ifstream::ifstream (2 No such
file or directory)
So somewhere along the line I got this change in my sources.list.
When I look in /sw/etc/apt I only see "sources.list.dpkg-dist" (plus an
empty directory, apt.conf.d).
Can I trash this file, and will a new sources.list be created
automatically? Or how do I generate a new sources.list?
Thanks Much!
