As you certainly have read many times on the fink lists and on the fink web pages, *this version is too old*. You have to use at least 4.2-3.

Now, since you know this, you should ask yourself (and then maybe the list), why does it still try to install the old version?

Two possibilities: Either you have the right package description on your hard disk or you don't. Which one is true can only be detected by you. It's your hard disk, after all. Use

find /sw/fink/dists -name system-xfree\*

to find out.

If you do have it in stable and it still isn't used, then maybe issuing a "fink index" command, maybe even several times, might help.
