The Fink tetex packages follow essentially the same layout as the teTeX distributed by Gerben Weirda, in an attempt to maintain some compatibility so that users can combine X11-related tools like xdvi from Fink with Wierda's teTeX. Wierda has announced his intention to package xdvi and other X11-related things with his teTeX distribution in the future, now that Apple is providing X11 to its customers.
