Kicked back to the list to get more brainpower on this: The translation that Vincent gave me for the error message is that the package list contains an empty file. I've had him try "fink reinstall libtool14-shlibs" and "fink rebuild libtool14-shlibs", neither of which worked. I then wanted to see what was in the package, but as the message below says, the error is interfering with "dpkg -L"
