The first thing to try is to boot from a OSX 10.2 system CD (Installer CD is OK). Then start DiskUtility (or choose it from the menu if you are on an Installer CD) and run "Repair Privileges" on your OSX system partition.Hi all.I installed Fink and fink commander then tried to install freeciv. My Mac spent ages compiling stuff (including some sort of X11 thing) but eventually stopped with some sort of error so I just gave up and switched off for the night. However, my Mac is now broken. The machine seems to start up as normal, but no login window appears, just a blue screen with a mouse pointer. Please can anybody help me fix this?
This may already be sufficient. If not, ask again. You would then have to look closer at what is really broken. Could be several different things.
