Not at all. You can install any other packages you want, any where you want. If being a good neighbor means spending the time to figure out whether everyone who is distributing Unix software on OS X is doing it in a way compatbible with Fink, and then allowing users to use those other distributions rather than Fink, well, we are a small number of people here at Fink and we're just not going to have enough time to do that in the forseeable future. But I think we are already an excellent neighbor.
