I have a current system with the latest fink, X11.app
and 10.2.4, and I'm printing to a Canon BJC-85 inkjet
printer. The printer works FINE when printing from all
the OS-X apps. When printing from all the X11 apps, or
from the command line ("lp textfile"), a job is sent
to the printer and I can see it in the queue (lpq),
but it just hangs. When I go to the Print Center in
OS-X, the job appears there, but the printer is
"stopped" and the Start Jobs icon will not work. As
soon as I delete the queued print job, I can click
"Start Jobs" and the printer works normally again (for
OS-X apps).I checked the permissions of the spooled files in /var/spool/cups and they look okay (same permissions as the print jobs that are working.) Any clues? I can provide nore details if needed. This is very frustrating since being able to print from OpenOffice and Gimp is one of the last steps I have to migrate out of OS9! Any help appreciated.
