Are there other fink-available windowmanagers that don't have these limitations ? I am in particular looking for something lightweight for the rootless mode. For fullscreen, I do have KDE installed :)
Well, you could always use KDE with the acqua-graphite theme installed. That blends in with Quartz pretty well, especially used in conjunction with quartz-wm.
As long as you don't mind having the panel around, anyways...
