Is there any way to install fink without superuser privileges? It doesn't make any sense to me that you would need to be root to install non-system packages.

If you need this feature, you could work on updating this patch--it's now a bit old. Also, you could help figure out how we should handle packages that need root privileges, like passwd (adding users), daemonic (running daemons), xfree86 (installs in /usr) and possibly others.
