Please forgive my ignorance.
I installed the fink-packaged mysql 4.0.14 from the unstable tree and
everything went fine. I do have a few questions about where things got
installed:
1. Where does the my.cnf file get installed? I checked /etc and
/sw/etc, no dice. This one isn't pressing, but may be later when I
figure out what I'm doing.
2. Looks like mysql_install_db gets run at the end of installation,
which should produce a grant table ('mysql'). The only table that shows
is 'test'. I ran mysql_install_db as root on the slim chance that it
might generate the 'mysql' table, but no luck. What's happening here?
Sorry to waste time with this here, but I wanted to see if these two
issues were specific to the fink package. I helped set up mysql on a
10.1.4 Server machine yesterday, so the slight differences in the two
and my painful lack of knowledge on the subject is causing me problems.
