I got gnuplot installed on my 10.3/fink-0.6.0 setup tonite. I grabbed my old gnuplot-3.8.xxx.deb, and tried to 'dpkg --install' it; That told me I needed aquaterm and libpdf (?). After I installed those two using fink, I was able to install the gnuplot .deb and run it just fine. I noticed that gnuplot hasn't shown up on the fink list of packages for 10.3/0.6.x yet. After I tried and failed to make the tarball, I remembered I had the .deb on my backup HD. > The following NEW packages will be installed: > aquaterm dlcompat-shlibs gnuplot libjpeg-shlibs libpng3-shlibs > libtiff-shlibs readline-shlibs texinfo xfree86 xfree86-shlibs > 0 packages upgraded, 10 newly installed, 1 to remove and 0 not > upgraded. > Need to get 57.3MB of archives. Therefore I think, that I dont need xfree86. > I'm not sure why you are getting these errors --- if your XCode/x11 from Apple is installed OK, the xfree stuffs shouldn't show up. Perhaps if you look at the (recent) messages relating to XFree86 problems and clean up your install? I'm sorry I'm of limited help here. Tchuss -- C.
