OK, that works, though I have no idea why: the file I hacked
is mozilla-browser-xft2-1.3-2.info, which is the version
that is listed as outdated.  The current version only has a
file mozilla-1.3-12.info that contains no mention of
xfree86, and I didn't touch it.

Somehow the outdated info file is inheriting the current
version number and controlling what will be installed.

Well, if it works, that's fine by me...many thanks!
