Hello all,

I do hate to add to the (most likely) extraneous help messages that are flying back and forth currently, but I am having a problem getting AbiWord to run.

I have started from scratch, just like i did with my Panther installation.

I downloaded fink-0.6.1-full.tar.gz and installed from source according to the provided files, NOT using stuffit to expand the archive.

Everything seems to run smoothly, the install has been bootstrapped, and i even successfully downloaded and installed lynx (from binary, not source).

What I would like to do now is download and install the binary and dependencies for AbiWord. This _appears_ to work fine (e.g. no errors during install).

Upon attempting to run AbiWord, however, I get the following error messages:

.......................................................
[EMAIL PROTECTED] 368 % AbiWord

xset: unable to open display "localhost:0.0"
dyld: /sw/bin/AbiWord_d can't open library: /sw/lib/libdl.0.dylib (No such file or directory, errno = 2)
/sw/bin/AbiWord: line 73: 6639 Trace/BPT trap $ABISUITE_LIBEXEC/AbiWord_d "$@"
.......................................................

I'm aware that I apparently need to adjust my DISPLAY environment variable, but that doesn't seem to be the only problem.

Here is some background info for everyone:

[EMAIL PROTECTED] 369 % fink -V
Package manager version: 0.16.0
Distribution version: 0.6.1

[EMAIL PROTECTED] 370 % sw_vers
ProductName: Mac OS X
ProductVersion: 10.3
BuildVersion: 7B85

[EMAIL PROTECTED] 371 % gcc_select 3.3
You are already using gcc version 3.3 as the default compiler.

and i'm using the zsh shell. I have properly sourced the /sw/bin/init.sh in the proper location.

any suggestions? is there something that I have missed?

thank you all

- Josh Horner
