This is weird. On Panther, the Terminal.app window does have TERM=xterm-color by default. At least it has for me.
Ok, I read the FAQ and figured out the dselect visual problem. I'm disappointed
though. Since most new users will be running in Terminal.app, why isn't this info
about "export TERM=xterm-color" in the installation instructions, or better yet, why
isn't there a wrapper around dselect that tries to be smarter about this? It makes
a *terrible* first impression to dump a new user into a terminal application that's
completely unreadable.
And not very usable even if it is working correctly (which it is not on Panther right now, apart from the TERM settings).
