Hello,
I have upgraded my system from Mac Os X 10.2 to 10.3.
After that, my 'old' Emacs, installed in binary mode using Fink, was not
working any more.
I have tried to
1) sudo apt-get remove emacs
2) intsall it again: sudo apt-get install emacs21
the second operation did not work. I immediately realized that it did not
work not only for emacs but for all packages in the fink list.
Then I have tried to
3) update fink with fink selfupdate
Also this doesen't work, probably because I have not yet installed gcc3.3
from the new developer tools disk. (Is there a way to update fink in
binary mode? I have tried sudo apt-get update, but it doesen't seem to help)
The point is that I use heavily fortran for work.
In particular I use the g77 fortran disributed by fink.
I'm afraid that changing gcc version I will also lose
my fortran functionality.
I have tried to find some answers in your web site, but I would be
grateful if you could suggest some strategy on how to behave.
I would like to recover my fink functionality without erasing
my sw and start again from scratch.
Thank you very much
antonello
