I apologize in advance because this is probably not a Fink question, but it seemed like
somebody on this list might know the answer. Also I've seen similar issues with some
Fink libraries, but I can't remember which at the moment.

I'm using Apple's X11 v1.0. Any time I try to build a program that links to both libX11
and libXp (e.g. NEdit) I get this message:

ld: warning multiple definitions of symbol _XauDisposeAuth
/usr/X11R6/lib/libXp.dylib(AuDispose.o) definition of _XauDisposeAuth
/usr/X11R6/lib/libX11.dylib(AuDispose.o) definition of _XauDisposeAuth
ld: warning multiple definitions of symbol _XauReadAuth
/usr/X11R6/lib/libXp.dylib(AuRead.o) definition of _XauReadAuth
/usr/X11R6/lib/libX11.dylib(AuRead.o) definition of _XauReadAuth

I used otool to look at the symbols in libXp and sure enough those symbols are in there.
They look pretty out of place -- all the other symbols start with _Xp. I tried stripping out the
_Xau symbols, but then X11 wouldn't start.

Does anybody understand what's going on? Was this a build error on Apple's part?

Thanks,
-n8
