Hello,
I've installed kmail 3.1.4-11 and I have problems sending emails.
I have three different email provider. With the first one I don't need the
option "Server requires authentication" because its my provider. But it
doesn't work, I got
The server responded: "Syntax: HELO hostname "
I tried the second one with the option "Server requires authentification" it
doesn't work either, I got
authorization failed (#5.7.0)
than I tried the third one with the option "Server requires authentificaton"
it doesn't work, but I didn't got a specific error message, only
Sending failed:
Could not connect to host mailout.lrz-muenchen.de
The message will stay in the 'outbox' folder until you either fix the problem
(e.g. a broken address) or remove the message from the 'outbox' folder.
Interestingly after I established a VPN connection the third provider, the
smtp server was working.
Does anyone have a clue why I could not send any email without using a VPN
connection? By the way both providers mentioned above are working fine under
mac os x 10.3 without VPN.
