Actually, it just built. I fixed the build system up and it links properly against the needed libraries. I just want to make sure my changes wander upstream as well, so that Mac os X is a supported platform.
I just looked at it. The build system looks like a mess and thus I notified the maintainer. Hopefully he is willing to work on the build system, if not I shall try to patch it up
