O.K., now all available fonts that I tried work fine, but now there are very few fonts remaining, because "other paths" are no longer available?
You can put other font paths into ~/.scribus/scribusfont.rc. If you put /Library/Fonts and /System/Library/Fonts there, you should already see some of the system fonts. The x-ghostscript-fonts package exists, and the applesystemfonts package will soon become available, too, I think. Have you read "fink info scribus"?
