I had to reload my original MacOS X 10.2 hard drive from scratch after the OS became very unstable. I'm trying a different partitioning scheme that I hope will make things better.
I used Carbon Copy Cloner to make disk image, so I have that. I've re- loaded /sw using ditto. I've reinstalled XFree86 though I haven't tried it (there we no errors as a result of the reload at least). I have a couple questions. Now that I've gone through all this and figured out a bunch of things on my own, is there a cookbook procedure out there somewhere that I could follow that addresses my circumstance? Finally, and most importantly, what if any packages need to be reinstalled so certain users that fink likes are recreated? Would that be passwd? Any others? Perhaps some packages need to be reinstalled due to other issues such as suid/sgid?
