I've been debating with myself about installing GNU/Linux on my
iBook, and now that I have a new model (yet _another_ replacement)
the thought occurs to me again that maybe I should go for it. While
I don't think I would miss OS X very much, I would be kind of sad to
say goodbye to Fink! This leaves me with some questions.

Has anyone out there had experience slowly stripping the Apple OS down
until eventually it is gone and you've replaced it with a totally
free OS?

Can Fink operate from within GNU/Linux on a dual boot machine?

Any general experiences about GNU/Linux on PPC that seem worth
sharing?

Can someone more knowledgeable than me help me understand which
parts of the OS X system are free as in freedom and which are not?
Would it be possible to have a free OS that wasn't GNU/Linux but
instead GNU/Darwin?

Would Fink ever offer a replacement for the kernel??
